One of the most important advances that the global economy has brought with it in recent years is blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Blockchain technology is a network system that carries a distributed ledger infrastructure that simultaneously stores data in logical blocks. Since this technology is thought to have revolutionary qualities in the industry, it has led people to great innovations and research. It is quite natural that it has started to attract great attention from the first day it emerged, as a result of the possible benefits it may offer. Among the biggest reasons for this, the level of security and the concept of time are the most emphasized positive effects. Blockchain for security aims to carry the transparency and secure transaction method to many different places by processing and storing data in a way that can be accessed by everyone at the same time, as well as its plans to save time in a digital way by accelerating the processes and reducing the human factor. Considering all these aspects, it is thought that many businesses will be affected directly or indirectly, and as a matter of fact, one of the areas that will be affected will be the finance-based accounting system. In this study, first of all, blockchain technology and its possible effects on financial accounting are briefly mentioned. In this direction, using the bibliometric analysis technique, studies in the field are analyzed according to certain criteria and it is aimed to contribute to those who will study or research the subject. In this context, 69 studies accessed from the "Google Scholar" database between 2015-2021 were accepted as data sets. In light of the findings obtained in the study, it is observed that most studies in this field were carried out in 2019. In addition, when the distribution of the studies according to their types was examined, it was understood that most studies were in the "article" type. With the help of network analysis, it has been determined that the keyword that is used the most is "blockchain", and when the distribution by country is examined through the data set, it is seen that the United States has the most studies.
