In Allah's 107th verse of Surat Anbiya; "My
Messenger! We sent you as a mercy to the worlds. " As he clearly states
with his expression, Hz. With the message and lifestyle he brought, the Prophet
became a guide and leader not only for the Islamic world but also for all
humanity. Although this statement is not seen as very assertive or realistic by
some circles, it is necessary to understand this by Hz. It will be sufficient
to compare the messages received from the Prophet with the expressions or
decrees in the scriptures.
In terms of our subject, the concept of
"mercy" is one of the important qualities of Allah, and it is
especially emphasized that it is "the Most Merciful and the Most
Merciful" even in the Basmalah. In the holy texts such as the Torah, the
Psalms, the Bible and the Quran, Allah informed people of his own mercy and
made them feel it, and then asked his prophets to be guides and pioneers in
this regard. There are many examples in the scriptures regarding the mercy of
God and his prophets or the advice he gave to people on this issue. What is
interesting is that regardless of the religion it belongs to, the provisions
regarding "mercy" in the scriptures examined are as in the following
examples; "May Almighty God put mercy on you in the heart of the man
..." (Genesis, 43-14)
“O Lord, if you keep account of your crimes, who
can survive, O Lord? But you are forgiving. " (Psalms, 130: 4)
“But God our Savior saved us by clearly showing
His goodness and love for man. He did this not because of our righteous deeds,
but by his own mercy, by the washing of rebirth, and by the renewal of the Holy
Spirit, which he poured on us profusely through our Savior Jesus Christ
”(Titus, 3: 5).
“Then we sent our messengers one after another
on their tracks. We sent Jesus, son of Mary, after them; We gave him the Bible
and made a compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. ”
(Surat al-Hadid / 27) is clear and strongly emphasized.
With this declaration, first of all,
by putting forward the decrees about compassion in the sacred texts, they are
"sent as mercy to the worlds" Hz. I will try to show how much the
prophet coincides with the examples in his life and how a universal message
such as mercy can be conveyed to all humanity through our prophet.

Allah’ın Enbiya Suresi 107. ayetinde; “Resulüm! Biz seni âlemlere rahmet olarak gönderdik.” ifadesiyle de
açıkça belirttiği üzere Hz. Peygamber, getirdiği mesaj ve yaşam tarzı ile
sadece İslam âlemi için değil tüm insanlık için bir rehber ve önder olmuştur.
Bu ifademiz, bazı çevreler tarafından çok iddialı ya da gerçekçi gibi görülmese
de bunu anlamak için Hz. Peygamberden bizlere ulaşan mesajları, kutsal
metinlerdeki ifadeler ya da hükümlerle karşılaştırmak yeterli olacaktır.
Konumuz
itibariyle “merhamet” kavramı yüce Allah’ın önemli vasıflarından biri olup,
besmelede dahi “Rahman ve Rahim” oluşu özellikle vurgulanmıştır. Tevrat, Zebur,
İncil ve Kur’an-ı Kerim gibi kutsal metinlerde Allah Teâlâ, başta insanları
kendi merhametinden haberdar etmiş ve bunu hissettirmiş, ardından da gönderdiği
peygamberlerinden bu konuda rehber ve öncü olmalarını istemiştir. Kutsal
metinlerde Allah’ın ve peygamberlerinin merhametine ya da insanlara bu konuda
verdikleri öğütlere dair birçok örneğe rastlanmaktadır. İlginç olansa hangi
dine ait olursa olsun, incelenen kutsal metinde “merhamet” ile ilgili hükümler şu
örneklerde de olduğu üzere; “Her Şeye
Gücü Yeten Tanrı, adamın yüreğine size karşı merhamet koysun…”
(Yaratılış,43-14)
“Ya Rab, sen suçların hesabını tutsan, kim
ayakta kalabilir, ya Rab? Ama sen bağışlayıcısın.” (Mezmurlar, 130:4)
“Ama
Kurtarıcımız Tanrı, iyiliğini ve insana olan sevgisini açıkça göstererek bizi
kurtardı. Bunu, doğrulukla yaptığımız işlerden dolayı değil, kendi
merhametiyle, yeniden doğuş yıkamasıyla ve Kurtarıcımız İsa Mesih aracılığıyla
üzerimize bol bol döktüğü Kutsal Ruh'un yenilemesiyle yaptı” (Titus, 3:5).
“Sonra
onların izleri üzerinde elçilerimizi birbiri ardınca gönderdik. Meryem oğlu
İsa'yı da arkalarından gönderdik; ona İncil'i verdik ve onu izleyenlerin
kalplerinde bir şefkat ve merhamet kıldık.” (Hadid Suresi/
27) açıktır
ve önemle vurgulanmaktadır.
Bu bildiriyle de, öncelikle
kutsal metinlerdeki merhametle ilgili hükümleri ortaya koyarak, bunların “âlemlere
rahmet olarak gönderilen” Hz. Peygamberin hayatındaki örneklerle ne denli
örtüştüğünü ve merhamet gibi evrensel bir mesajın peygamberimiz vasıtasıyla tüm
insanlığa nasıl aktarılabileceğini sunmaya çalışacağım.
