A DC-DC step-down converter is a power electronics circuit topology that converts an input voltage value to a output voltage value lower than it. The present study proposes an interval type-2 fuzzy controller for the voltage mode control of a DC-DC step-down converter operating at continuous conduction mode to analyze the dynamic performance of the proposed controller under different control scenarios. To this aim, a DC-DC step-down converter model was analyzed, and the limit values of circuit elements were calculated for continuous conduction mode. Later, the dynamic performances of the proposed control structure and type-1 fuzzy controller were evaluated in Matlab/Simulink comparatively against various disturbances such as changes in reference voltage, input voltage, and load. The comparative results of simulation studies demonstrated that the proposed controller displayed a remarkably effective and stable dynamic performance.
