Bu
eserde temel Hıristiyan mezheplerinden birisi olan Katolik mezhebinin ne
olduğu, Mersin Latin İtalyan Katolik Kilisesi merkez alınarak işlenmiştir. Bu
kilisenin kuruluşu, tarihçesi ve gelişimi, kilise cemaatinin inanç esasları,
burada gerçekleşen ritüeller; bunların nasıl ve ne zaman gerçekleştirildiği
çalışmamızın ana konusunu meydana getirmektedir.
Toplanan
verilerle aynı coğrafyada birlikte yaşadığımız Katolik Kilisesi cemaatini daha yakından
tanımayı amaçlıyoruz. Amacımızı gerçekleştirebilirsek bu din ve mensupları
hakkında daha fazla bilgiye sahip olabileceğimiz kanısındayız. Ayrıca dinlerin
ortak paydası olan “hoşgörünün’’ de bilgi olmaksızın pek bir faydası olacağını
sanmıyoruz.
Çalışmamızın
bu konu ile ilgili yapılmış diğer eserlerden farkları; kaynaklarımızın tamamına
yakınının Katolik Hıristiyanlar tarafından hazırlanmış eserlere dayanması ve
Dinler Tarihi’nin, Din Fenomenolojisi’nin en önemli yöntemlerinden birisi olan
objektiflik ilkesi doğrultusunda yazılmış olmasıdır.
Elde
edilen bilgi, belge ve veriler tarihi, fenomonolojik ve karşılaştırma
yöntemleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.
Kilisenin
benimseyip uyguladığı tüm ritüellerin, Katolik İnancına sahip diğer
Hıristiyanlarınkinden pek farklı olmadığı, hatta bu ritüellerin ve neredeyse
tıpa tıp aynı olduğu anlaşılmaktır.
In this work, what is the Catholic sect, which is one of the basic Christian sects, is handled by taking Mersin Latin Italian Catholic Church as the center. The foundation, history and development of this church, the principles of belief of the church community, the rituals that take place here; How and when these are realized constitute the main subject of our study.
With the data collected, we aim to get to know the Catholic Church community with which we live together in the same geography. We are of the opinion that if we can achieve our goal, we can learn more about this religion and its members. In addition, we do not think that "tolerance", which is the common denominator of religions, would be of little use without information.
The differences of our study from other works on this subject; The fact that almost all of our sources are based on works prepared by Catholic Christians and that the History of Religions was written in line with the principle of objectivity, which is one of the most important methods of the Phenomenology of Religion.
The obtained information, documents and data were evaluated using the history, phenomenological and comparative methods.
It is understood that all the rituals adopted and practiced by the Church are not very different from those of other Christians of the Catholic Faith, and even these rituals are almost identical.
