The relationship between fiqh and sufism has been stagnant at times in Islamic history. Sufi faqihs and faqih sufis have tried to reduce tensions. During the time of Shatibî's life, both situations were experienced between the fakihs and sufis in Andalusia. Shatibî has not stopped criticizing the points he sees as wrong in terms of method and practicality, despite his deep respect for sufis, his conveying the words of the forty sufis on anti-bidat opposition, counting them as elders of circumcision who acted according to complex principles, having good relations with sufis during his time, and quoting many sufis in his islamic legal theory work. For this reason, he was even described as an 'enemy of the sufi saints'.
The main point of his criticisms is the unveiling, inspiration, dream judgment, cifr and gayb news from the point of knowledge of the imagination; Despite the clear evidence of the Qur'an, the external thought and Sūfī Tafsīr; because the sheikh's knowledge is considered infallible as the knowledge of innocent imams, it is the fact that they are exaggerated in respect of the sheikh and without evidence. He himself wrote letters to the leading scholars of the time about the need for the sheikh and asked for answers. He explained the principles and limits based on the makasıd method regarding the knowledge understanding and methods of sufis. In this communiqué, we will present the sufis' view of the sufism and their criticisms of the information theories at the center of makasıd theory, which we can call the author of the last original osol-fiqh work.
