Özet

Bu çalışmada, S235JR yapı çeliğinden üretilen (100 mm uzunluğunda ve 5 mm kalınlığında) numunelerin yorulma davranışları incelenmiştir. Isıl işlemin yorulma ömrü üzerindeki etkisini değerlendirmek amacıyla iki özdeş numune hazırlanmıştır. İlk numune, 23°C ortam sıcaklığında "as-received" (üretimden geldiği haliyle) durumunda test edilmiştir. İkinci numuneye ise ısıl işlem uygulanmıştır: Numune, 45 dakikalık bir sürede 850°C sıcaklığa çıkarılmış, bu sıcaklıkta 3 saat bekletilmiş ve ardından fırın içerisinde doğal soğumaya bırakılarak tavlama işlemi tamamlanmıştır. Her iki numune, yorulma test cihazında 10 mm'lik sabit sehim (deflection) değerinde, aynı mekanik koşullar altında deneye tabi tutulmuştur.

The fatigue behavior of S235JR structural steel specimens, each measuring 100 mm in length and 5 mm in thickness, was investigated. To evaluate the effect of heat treatment on fatigue life, two identical specimens were prepared. The first specimen was tested in the as-received condition at 23°C. The second specimen underwent heat treatment by heating to 850°C over 45 minutes, maintaining this temperature for 3 hours, and subsequently cooling in the furnace to room temperature to achieve full annealing. Both specimens were subjected to fatigue testing under identical mechanical conditions, with a constant deflection of 10 mm. The results indicate that annealing at 850°C increased the fatigue life of S235JR steel by approximately 64%. The as-received specimen fractured in a brittle manner, suggesting high residual stresses or a microstructure conducive to rapid crack propagation. The significantly longer fatigue life observed in the heat-treated specimen is attributed to stress relief and the development of a more uniform microstructure resulting from the 3-hour hold and slow cooling. This annealing process promotes the formation of a ductile and stable ferritic-pearlitic microstructure, thereby reducing the rate of crack initiation and growth under cyclic loading.
