© 2022 IEEE.In this study, a new Hermitian symmetryless ACO-OFDM (HS-Less ACO-OFDM) scheme based on time division multiplexing is proposed as a solution to the spectrum inefficiency problem of the ACO-OFDM method, which is one of the most important optical OFDM techniques for visible light communication systems. Computer simulation studies are carried out to verify the performance of the proposed technique and compare it with other optical OFDM techniques. From the obtained numerical results, it is observed that the proposed HS-Less ACO-OFDM method provides 50% spectrum efficiency without sacrificing BER performance. In addition, it is understood from the results that the proposed scheme is 11 dB better than the DCO-OFDM technique and 15 dB better than the classical optical OFDM method.
