Abstract

3D Body Scanner systems have made an important entrance to the world textile industry in recent years. These developments are closely followed in Turkey. As a result of studies on body structures of Turkish people, different results have been obtained in this subject. Standard body measurements (S, M, L and XL) and the body measurements of the Turkish people are different from each other. As a result of these results, the working systems that suitable sewing dress on body have been increased. These systems take body measurements in the cabin with the help of sensors and make them an artificial model in the computer. Measurements of people in different positions are taken. In such systems, a stretch dress is used. This model is converted into an artificial mannequin in computer. The designed this mannequin and the measurement information of the person is sent to the manufacturer. Personally production was done slowly in the past with these systems, but now with the development of these systems the production is done rapidly. The pre-production period of the garment is shortened. Since such systems are actualized in the computer, the error rate is less than that of the hand-sewn garments. Another advantage of the system is that it can be seen from the computer how the garment looks before it is sewn, if necessary, can be adjusted. There is only one company in our country that uses the scanner and makes distributorship and the sale is not yet done in the country. In this study, the advantages, disadvantages, problems and solutions of three-dimensional body scanning systems are mentioned.
