Basic aim of this study is to identify the effect of mental health sub-dimensions
anxiety, positive effect, depression, emotional control over job performance
sub-dimensions that are task performance and contextual performance and
effects over. A questionnaire study was conducted with white collar workers
working in the private sector in Ankara. According to the results of analysis, it
was found that mental health sub-dimensions have effect on job performance
sub-dimensions in a positive/negative way and significant relationships were
found between the variables. In the study, proposals were also made about
how to manage employee’s mental health both in and out of the workplace
for business managers and researchers who want to conduct research in these
subjects.
Business managers are carrying out innovations in organizations in order
to increase the productivity of their employees, quality of work and life and
decrease absenteeism, personel turnover, workplace accidents. One of the
innovations that managers can carry out is the management of employees’
mental health. If the relationship between mental health with job performance
determined, managers are expected to assess employees’ job performance with
a different perspective. Two separate models were developed in this study. In
the first model, it was searched that how mental health sub dimensions effect
over task performance and the second model, it was searched that how mental
health sub-dimensions effect over contextual performance
