Özet

Hz.

The life adventures of the Companions, who received the message of Muhammad after he received his prophet hood and started to embrace Islam, are a treasure that contains valuable information in terms of a correct understanding of this religion. In terms of the development of religious sciences, it is extremely important to deal with the important tasks undertaken by the Companions and the events they went through. However, we can say that the biographies of many companions, who played an important role in the history of Islam, are neglected in contemporary sīrah writing. In this study, the biography of ‘Abd al-Rahmān b. Samura, which we think is one of them, will be discussed and his activities during and after the Prophet will be mentioned. ‘Abd al-Rahmān was one of the companions who became a Muslim during the conquest of Mecca and was known as Tulekā. He participated in the Mūte and Tabūk expeditions during the Prophet’s time. With the transition of Osman to the caliphate, he also began to take his place on the historical stage and became the governor of Sicistan. Ibn Samura, who continued this task for a while during the reign of Mu‘āwiya, took control of many cities in Sicistan. After his service here, he returned to Basra and lived in Basra until his death. The study will be considered in the form of Ibn Samura’s historical personality, scientific life, military and political activities.
