This research introduces a design approach that merges TRIZ with ARIZ to resolve multiple contradictions in modular product development systematically. The framework helps identify and resolve conflicts, balancing technical requirements with user experience, such as tool-free assembly versus strength and modularity versus ergonomics. The proposed method was tested on a tool-free modular bed frame and validated using FEM simulations consistent with international standards. The results show significant gains: stress decreased by 17.3%, safety factor rose by 21.1%, and both packaging volume and assembly time were reduced by more than half. Beyond empirical outcomes, the study advances design methodology by positioning TRIZ–ARIZ as a structured approach that extends beyond heuristic application. These findings present a reusable framework that balances sustainability, ergonomics, and performance in modular systems, contributing to innovation-focused engineering design research. We contribute a traceable TRIZ–ARIZ–FEM protocol and generalisable design rules for resolving multi-objective contradictions in modular, tool-free systems.
